“I’d like to introduce myself ahead of the upcoming Finnish Sighthound Association’s 75th Anniversary Specialty Show on June 1st, 2025 where I’ll have the honour of judging some of the sighthound breeds.
My name is Ágnes Gólián-Béres, I come from Budapest. Sighthounds have always held a special place in my heart especially the Borzois. Their grace, quiet strength, and noble spirit first drew me in many years ago, and they have remained my passion ever since. I’ve been privileged to live with, show, and study this remarkable breed, and they have shaped my eye and my appreciation for all sighthound breeds.
I began my sighthound career 20 years ago with sighthound racing. My first Borzoi achieved outstanding success on both national and international levels. At the same time, I also got involved in the world of dog shows and later participated with several Borzois, including ones I had bred myself. In the meantime, I earned a cynologist qualification from Szent István University and passed the FCI judge exam for Group X breeds.
As a judge, my focus is always on honouring the history and function behind each breed, with deep respect for type, soundness, balance, and presence.
I’m very much looking forward to seeing your dogs and celebrating the beauty and diversity of our beloved sighthounds.
Wishing you the very best in your preparations and a rewarding weekend in the ring.”
